Ryan is a photographer and filmmaker with a drive to communicate the importance of a healthy relationship between humans and the earth. Through visual images, education, and outdoor recreation he continues to pursue connecting people with the outdoors.
While earning a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Northern Michigan University, he worked for their Office of Marketing during the creation of a new brand campaign which launched in 2015 which focused heavily on the natural world that surrounds the small town school.
In 2013 he partnered with two Michigan filmmakers to create the snow bike film, Cold Rolled. The first of it's kind, the 20 minute film directed by Aaron Peterson showcases the unique culture and devotion found in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and tells the story of how Marquette became one of the first locations in the country for riding groomed singletrack on a fat bike. Cold Rolled was selected for the Mountain Film Festival in Telluride, CO in 2014.
Since then he has continued to photograph and film humans in the outdoors, furthering his connection to the outdoor industry by working with brands such as Outside, Trek Bicycle, Garage Grown Gear, and the YMCA.
